LPG & CNG Gas Filters
Over View
LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) filters, also commonly referred to as LPG filters, are essential components in LPG systems. They are installed upstream of the regulator to protect it from dirt, rust, and other contaminants that may be present in the gas line. These contaminants can damage the regulator and reduce its efficiency.
LPG filters are typically made of brass or stainless steel and have a sintered bronze or stainless steel filter element. The filter element is designed to trap contaminants while allowing the LPG to pass through.
CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) filters are just as important in CNG systems as LPG filters are in LPC systems. They perform the same function of safeguarding essential components from contaminants that can cause damage and hinder performance.
CNG filters are typically made of high-pressure resistant materials like stainless steel or aluminum and employ filter media such as microfiber glass or stainless steel mesh to trap debris. They are placed upstream of regulators and other sensitive components within the CNG system.
